*NEW 4-H Gadgets, Toys and Pranks - Grades 4-6
Science can be silly! Build science, engineering, art, and math skills while inventing interesting games, gadgets, toys, and pranks. Explore electronics with littlebits, a modular system to build circuits with lights, sensors, sounds and servos. We explore what each ‘bit’ does and create our own inventions using our new knowledge. COVID protocols will be followed.

RE: Summer school COVID safety practices
- Please continue to use the Home Screening Tool daily and keep your child home if they are sick or if anyone in your household has these symptoms
- If your child has symptoms, is exposed to COVID-19 or tests positive please notify healthservices@moorheadschools.org
- The health services team will be available Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- In our classrooms, we will continue to implement mitigation strategies until MDE directs us differently, this includes:
- The district will make every effort possible to maintain 6 feet of distance between students for any extended activities
- Hand washing will continue to be a part of the daily schedule
- Students will be in cohorts, limiting the exposures that can occur at school
- When eating or singing students will be at least 6 feet apart from each other
- IEP and Section 504 services will be delivered as written in the service plan
- In accordance with MDH/MDE guidance, masks will not be required but are HIGHLY recommended for anyone who is not vaccinated. Masks will be available at school for anyone who would like a mask but doesn’t have one. Student’s or staff’s choice to wear a mask will be absolutely supported by our staff.
- Masks continue to be required:
- On school buses, in preK programs and licensed childcare facilities
- Because the student day is shorter and classes are structured differently, we will use the 7 day shortened quarantine option for all exposures at school. Families who choose to take advantage of this option will need:
- To quarantine for a minimum of 7 days following the exposure
- Obtain a negative test on day 5 or later
- Complete the shortened quarantine form, provided by health services
- Return the negative test and shortened quarantine form to health services prior to return
- Families will continue to have the option of not testing and quarantining for 10 days
- Household contacts still need to quarantine for 14 days
- Saliva testing will be available at the middle and high schools for all students and staff on Wednesdays. If you would like your child to participate please sign and return this consent form.
- If your child has been fully immunized and you would like to share those dates with us to avoid the need to quarantine in the future, please email a picture of their vaccination card to healthservices@moorheadschools.org
*Current summer school guidance is based on current state guidance and COVID rates in our schools, community and state. As in the school year, this is subject to change, based on evolving science and local transmission. Families will be notified of changes via call, text and email. Please be sure your contact information is up to date in PowerSchool.
