BIPOC Family Connections
Join us for a culturally-affirming early learning experience designed especially for BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) children ages birth-3rd grade and their families. Come together to play, explore, and connect with other families in our community. In the second hour of class, parents will separate (if desired) to discuss topics of interest with each other and a parent educator, while their children continue to play and explore in the Early Learning classroom. -
EC Screening Thursday, August 6th, 2026
Early Childhood Screening is a FREE, one-time, growth and developmental check required by the State of Minnesota for all preschool aged children (ages 3-6) entering school in Minnesota, including JumpStart Preschool or Kindergarten. It is best done when your child is around 3 years of age. All students entering a Minnesota public school for Preschool or Kindergarten MUST have it completed within 90 days of the start of attendance. Screening appointments are held at Probstfield Center for Education, 2410 14th St S, Moorhead. Screenings are offered about twelve times throughout the year. Screening is completed by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please note, if your child has a current IEP with Moorhead Preschool/Early Intervention Services, your child will not need this screening as this was completed during your child's evaluation. If you are unsure of the status of your child's IEP, please contact our office to verify prior to scheduling. Thank you! -

Engage in interactive activities, circle time, music, and more, fostering early childhood development while creating lasting memories. In the second hour, parents will separate (if desired) to discuss topics of interest with each other and a parent educator. Children enjoy a snack and play time with a licensed early childhood educator. You know your child best. If your child is not ready to separate, you can stay with your child the entire class. -

Engage in interactive activities, circle time, music and more, fostering early childhood development while creating lasting memories. Gearing Up for School
Empower your family for the big transition! Is your little one heading to preschool or kindergarten in the Fall of 2026? Join us for Gearing Up for School, a collaborative, hands-on class designed for parents and children to navigate this exciting milestone together. This course balances fun, classroom-style activities for children with insightful guided discussions for parents. We focus on building the confidence and skills necessary for a smooth start to the school year. What You’ll Experience: For Children: Practice essential independent skills (like managing backpacks and following multi-step directions) and engage in social-emotional activities that mirror a typical school day. For Parents: Gain a deeper understanding of current child development milestones and learn what to expect in a classroom environment. For the Family: Discover practical strategies for handling the "big feelings" of transition, how to establish successful school-year routines, and tips for building an effective partnership with your child's future teachers. Leave the "first day jitters" behind and start the school year ready to thrive! This is a Parent-Child Separating class. Separation will take place softly in tiers. These one-hour events are designed for parents and their children to explore, play, and connect at various unique sites throughout the community. Each pop-up location offers a different experience, making every trip a brand-new adventure. Who: Parents/caretakers and children under the age of 9. Duration: 1 hour per event.
